Conor McGregor expressed delight at Francis Ngannou's PFL deal
In a conversation with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, Conor McGregor shared his thoughts on Francis Ngannou's recent decision to sign a groundbreaking contract with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), turning down the UFC's offer in the process.
McGregor expressed a mix of contentment for Ngannou's financial success while also sharing his belief that the heavyweight star should have chosen to remain with the UFC.
During the interview, McGregor acknowledged his satisfaction in seeing Ngannou secure a lucrative deal with another promotion. However, the Irishman made it clear that, in his opinion, Ngannou would have been better off re-signing with the UFC, the organization where he achieved great success and gained international recognition.
'The Notorious' remarked:
"I'm happy for Francis first of all, fair play...he done his thing. I still think he should've came to a resolution with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Who is he gonna fight? Who is he gonna fight that's gonna capture the general public? There's no one."
He added:
"There's no matchup that I can think of that I can even say to myself that it's gonna do big...That is commendable for sure and like I said, I'm happy for him. I just don't see a buzz on an annoucement. I can't see a name that gonna make me go get out of my seat."
