Jarred Brooks just hinted that his next match in ONE Championship could be sooner rather than later.

The reigning ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion posted on Instagram that he already signed his latest fight contract with the promotion. Brooks, however, didn't specify who he would be fighting or when his next matchup would be.

Nevertheless, Jarred Brooks revealed that it was an unexpected turn of events and an opportunity he would be hard-pressed to pass up.

He wrote:

"We are on the fast track to greatness. This opportunity sprung up on me and it is too good not to take! Stay tuned!! Fighting for @onechampionship very soon."

Brooks has been on a bittersweet campaign as of late, going 1-1 in 2024 in arguably the most unpredictable of circumstances.

The American superstar first relinquished the ONE strawweight MMA world title to rival Joshua Pacio after he was disqualified in their world title matchup at ONE 166 in Qatar.

Brooks went for a routine suplex in the first round of their match when he inadvertently spiked Pacio's head to the canvas, forcing referee Herb Dean to rule a disqualification against 'The Monkey God'.

A few months after his defeat, Brooks captured the ONE interim strawweight MMA world title after he submitted Cuban Olympic wrestler Gustavo Balart at ONE Fight Night 24 in August.

Jarred Brooks says he wants to compete in Muay Thai and kickboxing

It's not uncommon for ONE Championship fighters to jump to other disciplines to pursue more gold, and Jarred Brooks is no different.

Brooks is one of the most dominant grapplers in MMA, yet he wants to challenge himself in the realms of Muay Thai and kickboxing.

In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Brooks said he wants to jump into ONE Championship's lethal striking ranks to prove he can hang with the world's best fighters in the two disciplines:

"I just want to fight champions and want to prove a point. I think at 118 [pounds]. I want to prove to myself I can go in with the best and show my worth."
