Ambition can dictate how far an elite-level athlete can go in their careers, and ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai has it in spades.
Tawanchai is currently reveling in the biggest victory of his 133-win career after making short work of featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon in the main event of ONE 170 on Friday, Jan. 24.
Speaking with ONE analyst Mitch Chilson in the in-Circle post-fight interview, he made it clear that he wants a trilogy fight with Superbon, but with the 34-year-old's gold on the line. Tawanchai declared:
"It's been a while since I earned that bonus. Now my dream is complete. My next dream is to get that kickboxing belt on my other shoulder."

After a razor-thin majority decision victory in Dec. 2023 to defend the crown from Superbon, Tawanchai made it a personal goal to make their rematch one that fans will never forget.
The 25-year-old's words came to fruition inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, as he overwhelmed Superbon in the second round to retain the 155-pound Muay Thai world championship via TKO after dropping him thrice.

Tawanchai admits to idolizing Superbon as a youngster
Going toe-to-toe with one's heroes is a rare occurrence for many fighters. In Tawanchai's case, he has nothing but respect for the founder of Superbon Training Camp.
The PK Saenchai Muay Thai product told combat sports journalist Nick Atkin in their ONE 170 pre-fight interview how much he valued Superbon's exploits inside the ring during his growing-up years:
"I'm one of his fans, I would say, and I've watched him since I was younger. I'm always impressed by his performances. I think he is very good."
