Colby Covington has been called out by fellow UFC welterweight Gilbert Burns, who has poked fun at him with a recent AI-generated image on X/Twitter. The image depicts 'Chaos' and his close friend Chael Sonnen as McDonald's employees handing French fries to United States president-elect Donald Trump.
Covington and Sonnen are well-known supporters of Trump, and among his most visible fans in the UFC. Burns' tweeted image was captioned with a tongue-in-cheek threat that if Covington does indeed accept a bout with him, he will retire him to McDonald's, a restaurant that Trump favors.
"Colby next job if he takes the fight"

Both Covington and Burns are at a career crossroads, having been demoted from top five status to the tail-end of the top 10. Burns is ranked #8, while Covington is ranked #9. Furthermore, in terms of their in-cage performances as of late, neither man has tasted victory.
The Brazilian, who is a former welterweight title challenger, is currently on a three-fight losing streak, with his last win coming over retired journeyman Jorge Masvidal. Meanwhile, 'Chaos' is on a two-fight losing streak, with his last win being over Masvidal as well.
The two men have been linked to a fight for quite some time now, but Covington's lack of activity severely hurt his career. But now, coming off a TKO loss to Joaquin Buckley, he will be in desperate need of a fight.
Colby Covington has vowed to fight Giblert Burns to avenge Chael Sonnen
Gilbert Burns recently leaked Chael Sonnen's phone number in response to his erroneous claim that Burns had retired. Given the close relationship between 'The American Gangster' and Colby Covington, the former interim welterweight champion did not take kindly to Burns' actions.
In a recent livestream on Twitch, Covington offered to avenge Sonnen.
"Uncle Chael, if you want me to handle that inside the octagon, I will get justice for us. I will get justice on Gilbert's f***ing face."

All both men need is for the UFC to greenlight the matchup, which is one Burns has eyed for a while. Unfortunately, there's yet to be any official word from the promotion.
