“Feeling much better” - Bampara Kouyate primed to put on best performance against Luke Lessei at ONE Fight Night 23

Bampara Kouyate is at full steam ahead of the biggest night in his career.

Brimming with confidence, the French striker will go head-to-head with American striker Luke Lessei at ONE Fight Night 23 live in U.S. prime time on Friday, July 5.

Kouyate had gone into a full training camp ahead of this clash inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, unlike when he came up short in his inaugural debut at ONE Fight Night 15 last October.

In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA within the fight week of ONE Fight Night 23, Kouyate shared the reason why he carries such confidence against a tough foe like Lessei.

He said:

"Feeling much better, because now I have time to train and prepare for the fight with ONE Championship."

"Last time it was short notice and I had only three days to prepare myself to fight with small gloves, so now it’s different. The fight camp, everything is different, so I feel much better now," Kouyate added.

Bampara Kouyate expects smooth sailing when facing Luke Lessei

Things are going well for French standout Bampara Kouyate, ahead of his sophomore appearance against American Luke Lessei at ONE Fight Night 23.

Despite an unfortunate result in his promotional debut last October, Kouyate is aiming for his first victory in the world's largest martial arts organization, saying that he had more confidence after spending more time to prepare.

Kouyate shared his thoughts in the same interview with Sportskeeda MMA, where he said:

"I would say I feel much better to have had the time to prepare very well with my trainer and my coach, and everything is perfect now."
