A UFC lightweight is heartbroken after Tony Ferguson’s exit from the UFC. Notably, Global Fight League (GFL) announced that they have signed Ferguson.
Ferguson, who is now 40, holds a professional MMA record of 26-11 and has wins over Donald Cerrone, Josh Thomson, and Rafael dos Anjos. Making his UFC debut in 2011, he held a 15-9 record in 24 fights.
However, after an eight-fight losing streak, 'El Cucuy' hinted at retirement, although many speculated that he might come back to restore his legacy with a win.
Meanwhile, American lightweight Terrance McKinney shared a post on X after Ferguson’s departure from the UFC.

Charles Oliveira wanted UFC to change their approach when booking fights for Tony Ferguson
Former UFC lightweight king Charles Oliveira wanted the UFC to change their approach towards Tony Ferguson when it came to booking fights.
Ferguson, one of the most feared lightweights in his prime, had a 12-fight win streak between 2013-19, during which he also captured the interim lightweight strap. However, in the past few years, 'El Cucuy' has not seen a win and is on an eight-fight loss streak.
'do Bronx' who beat Ferguson in 2020, appeared in an interview with MMA Fighting previously and said:
“He [Tony Ferguson] deserves all the respect in the world just to be fighting still, he deserves a standing ovation for everything he’s done in the UFC. But I think the UFC should also give him some help and put him against someone around his age so they can put on a show and we applaud them.”
