Sean Strickland recently opened up about his experience meeting Tim Kennedy. The former UFC middleweight champion is acclaimed for his unorthodox fighting style and equally notorious for his knack for provoking conflict, unsettling nearly everyone he interacts with.
'Tarzan' has garnered widespread attention for his forthright and uncanny personality, frequently stirring controversy with bold statements in interviews and on social media. The 33-year-old Californian recently took to X and threw jabs at former UFC and Strikeforce fighter Kennedy.
He accused the retired mixed martial artist of being overly performative and diplomatic but acknowledged his politeness with a hint of humor:
"Every time I've met Tim Kennedy, all I can think is, 'goddamn, this man is so inauthentic it feels like I'm talking to a white girl getting ready to make an IG [Instagram] reel. He would make a solid politician, but he's a really nice guy lol!' Internet trolls or legit accusations?"

'Tarzan' was last seen in action at UFC 302 in June 2024, where he earned a hard-fought split decision victory over Paulo Costa. Prior to that, Strickland lost his championship to du Plessis at UFC 297.
When Dan Henderson had to send Sean Strickland packing due to his disruptive behavior
During an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience in October 2023, UFC legend Dan Henderson shared that he had no choice but to kick Sean Strickland out of Team Quest due to his incessant trash-talking with fellow teammates:
"He was at my gym for, like, three years. We kind of had to let him go. He just kind of gets too involved in talking sh*t about people. I liked him in the gym; he was a great training partner. You need at least one guy in your gym that does that and goes hard and makes everybody else go hard when they’re going against him, so I liked it."
Henderson added that, despite their ongoing differences, he remained supportive of Strickland and continued to root for his success:
"He just was too disrespectful to teammates and stuff. [But] I always rooted for him when he left. I thought he had a ton of potential... His natural ability is his cardio. He knows how to fight well, too, but naturally, he just has cardio for days."
