In a recent X post, Pitbull disclosed that Loren Mack, PFL's senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, informed his management team that he would be released from the promotion without any obligations. The 37-year-old also thanked Davis and CEO Peter Murray, writing:

''Loren Mack, @PFLMMA Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, just called my management team and said that my release is UNCONDITIONAL. Thank you @DonnDavisPFL and @PeteMurrayPFL for doing what is right. I’ll be waiting for the corrected release letter.''

In a following X post, Pitbull teased a potential fight with Volkanovski, hinting at his move to UFC, writing:

In an interview with MMA Junkie last year, Bellator star Patricio Pitbull, who has frequently demanded his release from the PFL, stated his desire to sign with the UFC.

Pitbull believed that the UFC would welcome him because of his experience in combat sports.
