“Fight IQ, great skills, dangerous kicks” - Jo Nattawut on what makes Superbon a menacing presence

Jo Nattawut praised Superbon ahead of their main event showdown.

At ONE Friday Fights 81, the hard-hitting Nattawut and ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon looks to secure a statement-making performance. The action-packed Thai fighters will meet in the September 27 main event for a featherweight Muay Thai bout that could change the division's outlook.

Superbon and Nattawut understand the danger that they each present on Friday. During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, 'Smokin' discussed the upcoming matchup and had this to say about the ONE interim featherweight world champion:

"High fight IQ, great skills, dangerous kicks."

In January 2023, Superbon was dethroned of the undisputed featherweight kickboxing world title by Chingiz Allazov. Since then, the Thai superstar has bounced back in the division with wins against Tayfun Ozcan and Marat Grigorian, with the latter for the interim strap.

Meanwhile, Jo Nattawut is coming off the best three-fight stretch of his career, even though he lost two. The hard-hitting featherweight had consecutive Fights of the Year contenders in kickboxing (Tawanchai and Luke Lessei) and Muay Thai (Tawanchai). He now looks to secure defeat a former world champion in Superbon.

ONE Friday Fights 81 will air live from the legendary combat sports venue of Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, also known as "The Mecca of Muay Thai." Friday's stacked event can be seen via pay-per-view at watch.onefc.com.

Superbon looks to steal Tawanchai rematch from Jo Nattawut

ONE Friday Fights 81 isn't the only fight that Jo Nattawut has scheduled within the next few months. At the moment, Nattawut is supposed to challenge Tawanchai for his featherweight Muay Thai world title in a rematch on November 8 at ONE 169.

It should be noted that rumors have circulated about Tawanchai potentially pulling out of the highly-anticipated matchup due to an injury.

Even if Tawanchai can fight, he may face someone other than Nattawut. ONE 169 is slightly over a month away, making the ONE Friday Fights 81 main event more important. If Superbon can emerge victorious, the promotion could substitute the interim featherweight kickboxing king for a different must-see rematch.

Superbon's lone promotional Muay Thai fight took place in December 2023 against Tawanchai, with the latter winning by unanimous decision.
