ONE Championship fans remain enchanted with how ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon defended the throne against Mexican slugger Edgar Tabares at ONE Fight Night 10 in May 2023.
Tabares repeatedly tried to land front kicks against 'The Iron Man', but the Thai hero was able to intercept them. Midway through the second round, Tabares again tried the technique but was rewarded with a short-range elbow that gave Rodtang the knockout win.

Fans were amazed at how Rodtang fended off Tabares' offense and wrote in the comments section:
"The fight IQ is top notch tbh. Blocks the elbow then traps the left arm."
"I'll shoot myself in the foot before I fight Rodtang."
"Bro should have given up repeating that move after he caught the first one 😂"
"Rodtang basically said, "If you're gonna spam that move, I'm gonna counter it." with that smirk. And then he did exactly that."
"Beautiful technique 👌❤️😍 Simply in love."

Rodtang will look to prevent United Kingdom star Jacob Smith from exacting his revenge by successfully defending the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE 169: Atlanta on Nov. 8 inside the State Farm Arena.
The Thai megastar and Smith first fought under the ONE banner in May 2022. Rodtang handily defeated the debuting Smith via unanimous decision in the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai Grand Prix quarterfinal.
However, Smith responded with a superb first-round knockout of Walter Goncalves in December 2023 to become the third-ranked ONE flyweight Muay Thai fighter and secure his opportunity at 26 pounds of gold at ONE 169: Atlanta.
Tickets for ONE 169: Atlanta are available via Ticketmaster.
