Takeru Segawa is ready to lay it all on the line when he meets Rodtang Jitmuangnon for, arguably, the biggest match of his legendary career.

The pair of modern-day legends will square off in a flyweight kickboxing super match in the main event of ONE 172 on March 23 at the iconic Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

Taking to Instagram, Takeru wrote that he's treating 2025 as the "final chapter" of his storied career, and every match this year further solidifies his career as one of the greatest kickboxers in history.

Takeru Segawa posted:

"I think of next year as the final chapter of my career as a fighter. I will fight with all my might every single day until the match. Your support gives me strength. Please continue to support me next year! Happy New Year 🎍"

Takeru is often considered the greatest Japanese kickboxer in history and is the only man to become a three-division K-1 Kickboxing world champion.

'The Natural Born Crusher' captured the K-1 super bantamweight, featherweight, and super featherweight world titles from 2015 to 2018.

He signed with ONE Championship in 2023 and was immediately linked to multiple super fights against the best fighters in the promotion's flyweight Muay Thai and kickboxing classes.

Takeru was initially scheduled to face Rodtang in the main event of ONE 165 in Tokyo, but the former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion pulled out of the January 2024 card due to an injury he suffered in training camp.

Rodtang, nevertheless, is back to full health, and he and Takeru are set for a massive showdown in Saitama in ONE Championship's highly anticipated return to Japan.

Takeru Segawa confident Rodtang's struggles on the scale would be a thing of the past

Rodtang Jitmuangnon held the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title since 2019, but his reign atop the division came to a disappointing end when he missed weight in his previous fight at ONE 169.

'The Iron Man' was supposed to defend his throne against Jacob Smith in Bangkok, but he was stripped of the gold after weighing over the 135-pound flyweight limit.

While some fans are skeptical of Rodtang's ability to stay within the division's limit, Takeru Segawa is certain his rival will be in the best possible shape for ONE 172.

In an interview with Nick Atkin for Bangkok Post, Takeru said:

"I believe that Rodtang will do his best to make weight and hydration."
