As UFC 311 approaches, tensions are escalating between bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili and his challenger, Umar Nurmagomedov. The two will clash on Jan 18 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, in a highly anticipated co-main event.
The animosity between Dvalishvili and Nurmagomedov has been evident, with heated exchanges on social media and confrontations at press conferences. However, a recent revelation has added an emotional twist to their feud.
Georgian reporter Giorgi Kokiashvili shared an image of Magdi Amachov, a friend Dvalishvili once helped during difficult times, now training with Nurmagomedov.

"This pic broke my heart a little bit. Magdi Amachov is helping Umar Nurmagomedov to prepare for Merab Dvalishvili. Merab helped Magdi to live like a human being in the US. He didn't had a home and Merab gave him a room for free in his own house and helped a lot. It's just sad"

Henry Cejudo weighs in on Umar Nurmagomedov’s strategy against Merab Dvalishvili
As Merab Dvalishvili gears up for his first UFC bantamweight title defense, Henry Cejudo has shared insights into Umar Nurmagomedov's potential game plan. While many anticipate Nurmagomedov will rely on his wrestling, Cejudo highlighted his lead leg teep kick as a crucial weapon.
Delivered from a southpaw stance, the kick could disrupt Dvalishvili's rhythm, preventing takedowns and setting up striking opportunities. Cejudo explained:
"Some people tend to overlook it, that lead leg teep. To eventually go to the head. But it's not just that, he's also going southpaw with it and then going to the head. And then he'll fake up top boom boom to eventually drop his opponents to get the eventual finish."
Cejudo added:
"Could this be one of the keys for Umar Nurmagomedov against Merab Dvalishvili? Everybody's thinking he might come in and wrestle. But who knows, he may use that lead leg that could be the key in order for, one, maybe set it up to get the knockout or, two, just fence him odd and stop him from wrestling. "
