The majority of netizens sympathized with Smith on this post despite his defeat inside the octagon. But American mixed martial artist Dillon Danis, who is known for making more noise outside the octagon, showed no sympathy and wrote:

Anthony Smith hints at a possible retirement
Anthony Smith was seen crying during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, as he lamented the passing of his friend and coach Scott Morton. He told Rogan:
"Man, I don’t even give a f**k about the fight. I don’t know how many more times I can do this. This guy was my best friend, and I thought I could push it down, but I couldn’t even control it walking in here, so I don’t know, I’ve gotta do some thinking, but I don’t know how many times I can do this without him.”
When asked if 'Lionheart' is retiring, he said:
"Man, I don’t know. Probably. It’s been a long road, I’m going to think on it, but probably.”
In the post-fight interview, UFC CEO Dana White also said that the three veterans who lost tonight: Chris Weidman, Clay Guida, and Smith—should all retire.
