Filipina-American striking sensation and former ONE world title challenger Jackie Buntan is proud of her roots.
For one, she grew up in an immigrant household, with her entire family being born in the Philippines. In contrast, Buntan is the only one among her sisters who was born in the United States, making her a natural American citizen.
This is a major reason why Buntan is thankful for her upbringing, which has brought the best of both cultures into her life.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Buntan says that though she is proud to be called a Filipino, she also stands up to represent the United States in every possible way.

The 27-year-old Boxing Works representative said:
"I’m very blessed to be here in America, be here in Cali. It’s like a huge melting pot out here, not just with food, but the diversity of people around you. The diversity not only brings change into your life, but it brings different understandings and different perspectives into these different worlds and different little subcultures throughout Los Angeles, specifically."
Needless to say, fans cannot wait to see Jackie Buntan back in action, and she will be in the ring soon enough against her toughest opponent to date.
