Ever since his defeat at the hands of now-reigning ONE bantamweight MMA king Fabricio Andrade in June 2022 at ONE 158, current number three-ranked divisional contender Kwon Won Il finished his last three opponents to earn his first world title shot.
On Jan. 24, the South Korean knockout machine will face Andrade in a rematch for the ONE bantamweight MMA world title at ONE 170 inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, and he is pumped up for the opportunity to avenge his loss.
In his most recent victory, Kwon called out 'Wonder Boy' in his post-fight interview, and ONE Championship reposted it on their Instagram account with the caption:
"Kwon Won Il is ready for WAR 💥👊 Will "Pretty Boy" prove his dominance and become the new bantamweight MMA king at ONE 170? @wonil_kwon"

Kwon Won Il's recent fights were under the watchful eyes of Fabricio Andrade
The Extreme Combat and P-Boy MMA representative currently rides a three-fight win streak of finishes, beating Mark Abelardo, Artem Belakh, and most recently, Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg.
But these wins by Kwon were closely monitored by Andrade, who revealed it in his interview with Sportskeeda MMA, as the Evolve MMA and Tiger Muay Thai representative shared:
"I've watched some of his fights - his last three fights - and also I watched my fight against him. But I'm not thinking only about the fight, you know."
