If you manage to impress the greats of the sport, you are clearly doing something right and Floyd Mayweather is bustling with pride seeing the fighter Curmel Moton is becoming.

Moton a long-time pupil of the pugilistic legend is a true embodiment of the word wunderkind. At 18 years of age, the fighter holds an impressive pro record of 4-0 on top of an extensive amateur career, registering a record of 61-3.

Earlier this weekend at the Honda Center in Anaheim, it took Moton just two rounds to clinch a KO victory over Nikolai Buzolin.

While Moton's opponent Buzolin (9-9-1) was far from a pugilistic elite, Mayweather seemed to be pleased with his student's performance. During the broadcast, the pair could be seen celebrating the win with a heartwarming embrace.

However, it seems the 47-year-old had no doubt in mind about his protege's ability to get the better of the Russian.

Talking to DAZN before the fight, the former world champion sang high praise for the teenager, stating that he had sensed Moton's potential many years ago when he walked into 'Money's' gym as a mere child:

"When he walked into my gym, I think he was like either eight or nine years old. He could've even been six or seven. But he was a young kid, from the beginning I could see a lot of talent in this kid. He was working with his father and so many different trainers around the gym. Very, very talented kid, and I'm happy that I'm able to be a part of his life and take him to that next level."

According to 'Money', hunger is what sets Moton apart from the rest. Mayweather added:

"He wants to be great. He has boxed so many different champions throughout the years, even as an amateur. I just want the best for him. So much talent."
