Mayssa Bastos knows that she'll be dealing with an even more dangerous Danielle Kelly than the one she met the first time around.
Four months removed from her stunning unanimous decision victory over Kelly to claim the ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion, Bastos will put her 26 pounds of gold on the line when the two run it back at ONE Fight Night 26 on Prime Video this Friday night, December 6.

Emanating from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Kelly will go into fight night hellbent on reclaiming the crown she surrendered over the summer.

Knowing how determined Kelly will be in their highly anticipated rematch, Bastos realizes that she'll have to stay in the moment and not let the success of her past lull her into a false sense of security.
"In order for me not to be surprised, I need to be attentive at all times during the fight," Bastos told ONE. "I need to be very focused. I have no way of knowing what she will be thinking about doing during the fight, so I need to focus a lot on the present moment of the fight to do well and not be surprised."

Of course, Danielle Kelly isn't the only one walking into ONE Fight Night 26 with a heap of motivation. Bastos will also look to put a big stamp on her sophomore appearance with the promotion, and hopefully leave the Mecca of Muay Thai with her title and another $50,000 bonus in her back pocket.
“It’s a very good motivation, right? There’s nothing better than being rewarded for having had a great performance," Bastos added. "The reward is very good, so it just motivates me.”
