Former UFC fighter Muhammad Mokaev returned to training following a severe car accident.

In July, Mokaev's fighting career was turned upside down. The undefeated 24-year-old fought at UFC 304, defeating intense rival Manel Kape by unanimous decision. The flyweight matchup featured a heated buildup and failed to reach the fan's expectations due to a lack of action and aggression that was promised.

Following Mokaev's seventh UFC win, Dana White shockingly removed him from the roster due to alleged character flaws and an arguably boring fighting style. The news was a surprise to most MMA fans, as the 24-year-old held an undefeated promotional record and seemed one win away from a title shot.

Things went from bad to worse for Mokaev in the following month. The world-class flyweight MMA fighter was involved in a scary car accident in Dagestan, Russia, leading to his Mercedes-AMG A 35 being destroyed.

Luckily, Mokaev avoided any serious injury that would prevent his fighting career from moving forward. Earlier this week, he posted a short video on X of him training and added the following caption:

"Slowly getting back to training after the car crash @bravemmaf"

Before being cut by Dana White, Muhammad Mokaev climbed to the top of the flyweight rankings. Mokaev's last two fights proved he belonged with the best, as he defeated former title challenger Alex Perez and top-ranked Kape.

Muhammad Mokaev teases first fight since parting ways with UFC

Muhammad Mokaev became the most-talked-about MMA free agent following his departure from the UFC. There were rumors of him signing with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), but the promotion doesn't have a flyweight division. As a result, Mokaev re-joined BRAVE Combat Federation.

Mokaev made the official announcement on X by saying:

"I’m happy to announce that I signed with @bravemmaf I would like to thank @khalidbinhamad @thehawkshahid for this opportunity! @KHK_MMA"

Mokaev later teased a potential next fight date:

"25th October Abu Dhabi"

BRAVE CF will be a familiar home for Muhammad Mokaev, as he previously fought in the promotion five times (4-0 with one no-contest). The young flyweight now looks to make some noise and potentially make his way back to the Octagon.
