Controversial former kickboxer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, are currently incarcerated in Romania as they await trial on charges of human trafficking. Former mixed martial artist Tam Khan took to Twitter to urge that the Tate brothers be freed, stating:

"Free the Tates. MashAllah brother @Cobratate walking with the Holy Quran in his hands. May Allah protect them. #FreeTopG #AndrewTate #TristanTate"

Hours later, Khan let off another tweet, adding:

“And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.” (AI-Baqarah, 2:216)

Khan, who last competed in 2010, finished his mixed martial arts career with a record of 6-3. Based on his Twitter profile, he appears to be close friends with the Tate brothers. The brothers are currently on a 30-day hold, which can be extended up to 180 days per Romanian law. They are reportedly facing 30 years in prison if convicted and have had their assets seized until the resolution of the criminal proceedings.

Joe Rogan shares his thoughts on Andrew Tate's message

Andrew Tate gained online notoriety due to his controversial message, which many deemed misogynistic and sexist. The backlash to his message led to Tate being removed from several social media platforms, which further increased his popularity. Joe Rogan recently shared his thoughts on Tate's message.

Speaking to guest Dave Portnoy on episode #1920 of The Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC commentator stated:

"I don't know him. If I did know him, I would tell him all the boastful s**t and the s**t about him being the Top G and all that stuff - all that s**t's great, but the misogynistic stuff - like, if you have daughters or if you have a wife or if you have sisters, you don't want that. That narrative, putting that out there, that's negative - to everybody. It's not even positive to him. It's like, it's not necessary."

While there was plenty of backlash to Tate's message, he also gained plenty of support. Rogan attributed the success of the social media personality to a generation of young men who feel underrepresented in the media.
