Former ONE featherweight world champion Thanh Le is not wasting time getting back inside the circle after losing his belt just a few weeks back. At ONE 160 in August this year, the Vietnamese-American lost the strap to China's Tang Kai in an exciting five-round war.
Never the kind to dwell too much on his losses, Le is already picking himself up and marching forward. In an interview with FTS MMA on YouTube, Le revealed his plans on getting the gold back on his waist:
"Oh, we're already talking about matchups, rematches, and all these things, going back and forth. There's no rest. We're back on this. We got limited in time in this game. So we got to get back in there and get this belt back and start defending that thing."

Thanh Le showed the true heart of a champion by always looking to learn and move on from his mistakes. Dwelling too much on the mistakes of the past can keep us trapped in them. Le is wise enough to understand that the only way to get out of the funk of losing is to keep pushing forward. We're eager to see him return to the circle.

Tang Kai shocks Thanh Le by outwitting and out-fighting him at ONE 160
The co-main event of ONE 160 saw a competitive and hard-fought bout between then-ONE featherweight world champion Thanh Le and Chinese dynamo Tang Kai. After the five-round contest, Tang Kai became the first male MMA world champion to hail from the Republic of China.
Aside from the fact that Tang ended Le's dominant win streak in the promotion, perhaps even more surprising was how he did it. Tang surprised everyone, including the former world champion, with a methodical game plan. Known for his aggressive, power-centric style, Tang flipped the switch and went surgical on Le.
Over the course of the bout, it was evident that it boiled down to a battle of game plans. Thanh Le, who is known to be the surgical striker, perhaps wasn't expecting Tang to implement his game against him. By the fourth round of the bout, it was as if Le and Tang had exchanged styles, as the former was going for wild strikes while the latter was cool and calculated.
The strategy worked for Tang. Le never had a real chance to mount any serious offense as the Chinese fighter may have jarred him mentally already.
