Devin Haney losing to a 3.2 pounds overweight Ryan Garcia in their super lightweight contest is poetic justice, according to a former super lightweight champion.

Speaking to Fight Hype about 'The Dream's' defeat at the hands of 'KingRy', former WBC super lightweight champion Regis Prograis claimed that it was karma working against Haney in the fight for all the times he weight bullied his opponents in the past:

Prograis who lost his WBC strap to the 25-year-old last December also accused the fighter of using IV drips to enhance rehydration and regain weight before his fights:

"There were rumors that he did IV drips and all that type of sh*t and I mean I never did that stuff... in my contract it is illegal and when we fought you were not supposed to come in that big. That was illegal too."

Prograis added:

"Now Ryan did the same thing that he did to me. Ryan did the same thing to him. So for me bro, I think it's just all karma... Karma comes around for everybody. That's just how it is. You just can't get away from karma. You do good, you do bad. Whatever it is karma is going to happen."

Despite losing the fight against Garica, the WBC ruled that 'The Dream' would retain his title since his opponent missed the weight for the fight. The decision, however, hasn't gone down well among fight fans.

Devin Haney calls for a rematch against Ryan Garcia

His first career loss has not affected Devin Haney's thirst for boxing in the slightest. Now the WBC junior welterweight champion wants to run it back with Ryan Garcia.

During his post-fight interview, 'The Dream' argued that the fight was a close one that warrants a rematch:

"Of course, I felt it was a close fight still. I would love a rematch. I gave him a shot, it's only right he gave me a shot back."

Garcia also entertained the possibility of a rematch during his interview following the win. Since both fighters seem to want to duke it out again, Haney vs. Garcia 2 seems like a real possibility later this year.
