Jarred Brooks plans to make a "really big comeback story" for himself at ONE Fight Night 24.
On Friday night, Brooks will fight for the first time since being dethroned from the ONE strawweight MMA throne due to a disqualification. 'The Monkey God' won't have to compete without a title on the line, as a torn ACL incurred by Joshua Pacio led to a bout between him and Gustavo Balart for an interim strawweight MMA strap.
Brooks recently did an interview with ONE and talked about his evolution since losing his world title and becoming a father for the first time.
The American superstar had this to say about wanting to overcome the significant changes in his life by emerging victorious in the ONE Fight Night 24 main event:

"I feel like in the last three months I've done a complete 180 of where I was, as far as martial arts, as far as a father. Because if a baby doesn't show you anything about yourself, then nothing will. And a loss like that, that will show and see how far you can go and then come back. That's my goal. It's just to make a really big comeback story for myself in ONE Championship."
ONE Fight Night 24 will take place inside the legendary sports venue of Lumpinee Stadium. The August 2 event in Bangkok, Thailand, featuring Jarred Brooks vs. Gustavo Balart can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Gustavo Balart plans to counter Jarred Brooks with his own comeback story
Jarred Brooks isn't the only fighter looking to fulfill a comeback story by securing ONE gold on Friday.
Brook's upcoming opponent, Gustavo Balart, started his ONE Championship tenure with three consecutive losses. 'El Gladiator' refused to back down and established a four-fight winning streak heading into ONE Fight Night 24.
With a win against Brooks, Balart would showcase the resilience of a world champion. Furthermore, he would have an opportunity to claim the undisputed ONE strawweight MMA world title in an intriguing matchup against Joshua Pacio once the latter fully recovers from his torn ACL.
