With everything that Sam-A Gaiyanghadao has accomplished in his career, it would be understandable if he no longer had any clear goals in mind.
The Thai legend has done it all at the elite level of the sport, so there's very little left to tick off his bucket list. However, rather than a specific title motivating him right now, he is currently fueled by revenge.
In recent years, only one opponent has gotten the better of him after they've shared the ring multiple times. Prajanchai PK Saenchai has come out on top on both occasions, with their last meeting ending in a vicious second-round knockout at ONE Friday Fights 22 in June last year.
This appeared to be a changing of the guard moment, with Prajanchai going on to achieve strawweight supremacy as a two-sport world champion in the division.

However, Sam-A isn't ready to move on just yet and the 41-year-old veteran has been on the warpath ever since he took some time off to recover from his knockout loss.
In a recent interview with Sportskeeda MMA, he spoke about why he believes a trilogy fight between them would be different to their previous encounters:
"My mental condition is also more determined and hungry [if I fight Prajanchai]. And the victory that I just got has given me more confidence in myself."
Sam-A is full of confidence right now
As he said himself in the interview, Sam-A, a former two-division, two-sport world champion in ONE, is riding high right now following his recent performances under the promotional banner.
In September, he announced his return with a knockout over Akram Hamidi that showed that he is far from done.
His second consecutive win at ONE 169 this past month further proved that as he put on a striking clinic against former world title challenger Zhang Peimian.
Sam-A now wants the opportunity to prove himself by facing off with Prajanchai for a third time.
