A former UFC champion recently disclosed what he would have done had he been in Anthony Smith's grief-filled situation. The former light heavyweight title challenger was overwhelmed with emotions as he fought Dominick Reyes at UFC 310 following the death of his friend and coach, Scott Morton.

'Lionheart' was visibly in emotional distress as he was in tears during his walkout and on display during the bout itself. Daniel Cormier, who was working on the broadcast, even shed light on what Smith was going through and questioned whether he should have withdrawn from the event.

During a recent episode of Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson's JAXXON PODCAST, former bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw weighed in and shared his thoughts on Smith competing while grieving his coach's loss. Dillashaw mentioned that had he been in that situation, it would only fire him up even more and motivate him to put on an incredible performance in his coach's memory:

"It'd be tough, man, but I think the same way I kinda handle every shi**ty situation is I try to flip it into like, somehow turn it into a positive. Like, what would that coach want me to do out there? He would want me to go out there and get the win, right?...I'd probably try to go out there and fu*king fight my a** off and get the win for him, so I can have a victory speech for him and tell him I love him. That kind of sh*t."

"I've been booed...I had a whole crowd saying, 'Fu*k you, T.J.', while I was fighting. It was at Madison Square Garden...I think I was fighting [Cody] Garbrandt at Madison Square Garden after 'The Ultimate Fighter', all that good stuff. And then guess what happened?
