On March 24, 2022, the former UFC lightweight fighter and the victim were involved in an altercation that prompted the St. George Police Department to respond. When police arrived, they saw the woman confused and with scrapes on her knees, which she claimed were caused by Carrizosa pushing her. She also told authorities that Carrizosa had struck her in the back of the head.
The woman was sent to the hospital for evaluation, according to the police, but she fainted and had a seizure while speaking to law enforcement. Witnesses supported her claims about being punched in the back of the head.
The woman informed police that she and Carrizosa were involved in an altercation. According to a probable cause affidavit, Carrizosa followed her and shoved her while she was grabbing her purse from the vehicle. The affidavit adds that as she moved away, Carrizosa punched her in the back of the head. 'Cain Castillo' took her phone away when the incident transpired.
The suspect, initially identified as Cain Carrizosa, is said to have left Utah for Las Vegas soon following the March incident. Officers eventually discovered that the name was an alias, and it was not until the most recent incident that officials were able to correctly identify the suspect as Castillo.
