After Ovince Saint Preux was left without an opponent for UFC 282 this coming weekend, Impa Kasanganay has offered to step in on short notice to take on the former title challenger.

Saint Preux hit a patch of bad luck as his original opponent for UFC 282 on December 10, Alexander Gustafsson, withdrew due to undisclosed reasons and was replaced by Philipe Lins. Unfortunately, Lins also withdrew from the bout due to undisclosed reasons and was later replaced by UFC newcomer Antonio Trocoli.

Just over a week before the fight, Trocoli withdrew due to visa issues and was subsequently released from the UFC. TSN's Aaron Bronsteter has now confirmed that OSP is off the UFC 282 fight card.

Former UFC middleweight Impa Kasanganay has stepped up to the plate and offered to fight Ovince Saint Preux, just four days before the upcoming pay-per-view. He wrote on Twitter:

"OSP? Still need a fight my friend? All due respect. @Mickmaynard2 @ufc @danawhite."

While it is unlikely that Impa Kasanganay will get the call, it is certainly a commendable gesture on his part. Kasanganay was cut from the UFC in 2021 and has since fought for XMMA and Khabib Nurmagomedov's Eagle FC.

Ovince Saint Preux's history of bad luck

As mentioned earlier, Ovince Saint Preux was removed from the UFC 282 fight card after three separate matchups fell through. Interestingly, it seems the Haitian-American is no stranger to his fights getting canceled.

Since the start of 2020, Saint Preux has signed a total of 15 bout agreements, with only five coming to fruition.

Ovince Saint Preux last fought Mauricio Rua in May earlier this year, winning their third-round bout via split decision. The 39-year-old is currently 2-3 in his last five fights with an overall MMA record of 26-16.

Saint Preux isn't the only fighter forced off the UFC 282 fight card. Wrestling phenom Bo Nickal was also initially scheduled to feature at UFC 282, but injuries have forced the American to postpone his UFC debut to next year.

Glover Teixeira was slated to take on Jiri Prochazka for the light heavyweight title in the main event. However, after Prochazka withdrew from the bout with an injury and subsequently vacated the title, Teixeira opted out of the headliner as well when he was offered Magomed Ankalaev as a replacement. Ankalaev will now take on Jan Blachowicz for the vacant title in the main event.

Elsewhere on the card, Robbie Lawler sustained an injury just over a week before the pay-per-view and will be replaced by Alex Morono, who will take on Santiago Ponzinibbio on short notice.
