NBA legends, Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard, have been exchanging a heated war of words. Jumping in on their clash, former UFC star Derek Brunson has chimed in, suggesting he could help set up a fight between the two.
O’Neal has been one of Howard's prominent critics, often questioning his playing style and performances. During a recent appearance on The Gauds Show, Howard addressed O’Neal's remarks and proposed a sit-down conversation to resolve their differences.
In response, O'Neal slammed Howard on X for his inability to handle criticism. His fiery post included a series of hashtags expressing his frustration:
“@DwightHoward the fact u think I care about u is funny, but I won’t ever bring your name up again sensitive big man, a jokester that can’t take a joke. Won’t ever say your name again ever again. Have a great day and now u have been deleted. Have a great day. #inevercared #trustme #dontneedvalidationyoudo #stayoffpodcasts #thefactyouthinkicareisfunny #yougottashowrespecttogetrespect #nowyouredeadtome.”

However, Howard also took to social media to jab at O’Neal, calling him an insecure person and accusing him of being jealous of other great NBA players.
O'Neal's post caught the attention of Brunson, who humorously chimed in on the heated exchange. Taking a playful dig at the feud, Brunson wrote:
“I can line this up . Mma or boxing . What do you guys prefer.”

Shaquille O'Neal labels UFC fighters as the greatest athletes
NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, a long-time fan of mixed martial arts, has often shared his desire to step into the octagon one day.
During his appearance on the Pound 4 Pound Podcast with Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo, O’Neal highlighted why he believes MMA fighters are the greatest athletes. O’Neal said:
"I'm watching all the top fighters. You guys are probably the greatest athletes ever because you have to like... Us [basketball players], run, jump. Football, run, tackle, and that's no knock on everybody, but you guys, the way you train, the way you get hit, knocked out, knocking people out, you guys are the greatest athletes."
