Tom Aspinall provides major update on potential UFC heavyweight title unification bout with Jon Jones
The UFC heavyweight title unification bout between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall is set to be the biggest in UFC history. According to reports, UFC president Dana White is doing everything in his power to make it happen.
Interim heavyweight champion Aspinall himself confirmed that White all but made 100% sure that this bout will become official sooner rather than later.
In a guest appearance at Piers Morgan's YouTube show, Aspinall shared what transpired in his meeting with Dana White shortly after Jon Jones' title defense win at UFC 309 last month.
Aspinall said:
"So in all honesty I was expecting him [Jones] to come and maybe negotiate a little bit and he [White] literally walked into the room and said, 'It's happening.' And I said, 'Well he's [Jones is] going to want loads of money. And he said, 'I know. But it's happening. It's going to be the biggest fight in UFC history."
