Tom Aspinall provides major update on his bout with Jon Jones

The UFC heavyweight title unification bout between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall is set to be the biggest in UFC history. According to reports, UFC president Dana White is doing everything in his power to make it happen.

Interim heavyweight champion Aspinall himself confirmed that White has assured him that the bout will become official soon.

In an interaction with Piers Morgan, Aspinall shared little details about what transpired in his meeting with White shortly after Jon Jones' title defense win at UFC 309 last month.

Aspinall said:

"So in all honesty I was expecting him [Jones] to come and maybe negotiate a little bit and he [White] literally walked into the room and said, 'It's happening.' And I said, 'Well he's [Jones is] going to want loads of money. And he said, 'I know. But it's happening. It's going to be the biggest fight in UFC history."

If and when this fight gets officially booked, it may set new PPV and attendance records, surpassing Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Conor McGregor back in 2018.
