Andrew Tate has now spent more than a month in a Romanian prison after getting arrested at his place of residence during a raid carried out by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT). The controversial figure and his brother have been arrested on suspicion of multiple crimes, including human trafficking and assault.

The former kickboxer recently described the harsh conditions of his holding cell in a series of tweets, which seemed to have moved Darren Till. The No.15-ranked UFC middleweight recently tweeted out a message calling for Tate's release from jail:

"Free Top G."

Till has made no secret of him being a fan of Andrew Tate and the Liverpudlian even used a song commonly associated with 'Top G' during his last walkout at UFC 282.

Darren Till was defeated via third-round submission by Dricus du Plessis on the night and is currently on a three-fight losing slide. 'The Gorilla' is now 1-3 in the middleweight division, with his narrow decision win over Kevin Gastelum in 2019 being his last victory.

Darren Till explains why he used a song linked to Andrew Tate for his walkout at UFC 282

Darren Till made his return to the UFC octagon against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 282 this past December after a year-long hiatus. For his walkout to the octagon, Till played the song "Tourner Dans Le Vide" by Indila, a song that is closely associated with controversial influencer Andrew Tate.

Many linked the song to the now-arrested Tate due to its use in many of his viral clips and videos. While 'The Gorilla' was ultimately submitted in the third-round of his bout, the Liverpudlian defended his choice of walkout music and claimed that he doesn't think Tate is a bad person.

In an interview with Basketball Insiders, Till explained why he used that particular song"

"I know he’s [Andrew Tate] very controversial, but I don’t think he’s a bad person and that theme tune for me is just sick. When I’ve seen some of the viral videos I’ve just thought yeah that’s a bit of me. I’m a fan of his but not of all his views and that’s just the way the world works."
