Danny Kingad has been taking some time to think about the current lay of the land in the division that he calls home. 'The King' has already faced off with many of the top contenders in the flyweight division in ONE Championship.

However, the division has done through significant change as of late following what happened at ONE 168: Denver inside the Ball Arena last month.

ONE flyweight MMA world champion Demetrious Johnson announced his retirement, ending his legendary career by vacating his title.

This adds extra stakes to Kingad's upcoming return at ONE 169 on Nov. 8 where he will face off with former champion Adriano Moraes at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the lead up to the fight, Kingad spoke in a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA about the top of the weight class.

He specifically mentioned one other name that is right up there with him and his next opponent when it comes to the current world title picture:

"There's a lot. There's Reece (McLaren), of course, Adriano, who's already next for me. We are the guys on top of the division, so I think it's inevitable that we will face each other eventually."

Danny Kingad looks to make a statement at ONE 169

Danny Kingad wants to finally get his hands on the flyweight world championship and beating Adriano Moraes is exactly the ticket that he needs.

Many will have assumed that after Johnson retired, Moraes would be the next world champion. The Brazilian has held the gold several times and was the last man to compete against 'Mighty Mouse' in MMA when they concluded their epic trilogy at ONE Fight Night 10.

Defeating Moraes will undeniably put Danny Kingad into pole position as the top flyweight in the division. As such, securing the win inside the Mecca of Muay Thai could have a massive impact on his career going forward.
