Jiri Prochazka shuts down talks of backup role in upcoming Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev clash
Jiri Prochazka returned to the win column at UFC 311 with a solid TKO victory over Jamahal Hill.
Following the fight, he expressed a desire for a third fight against Alex Pereira, having lost to him twice before. Despite Pereira headlining UFC 313 against Magomed Ankalaev, Prochazka dismissed the idea of serving as a backup, preferring a well-prepared direct challenge. Speaking at the UFC 311 post-fight press conference, Prochazka said:
"No, I don’t like to be a back-up. Because it’s every time, weird, you can fight or not, but you still prepared. No, I want to make good preparation, and then to face, like I said, Alex Pereira a third time.”
