Francis Ngannou seems to be eyeing a sequel clash with Tyson Fury inside of the boxing ring. A former opponent of Ngannou's may beat him out for a chance at 'The Gypsy King' sweepstakes, as rumblings suggest a long-awaited domestic blockbuster bout between the UK's own Fury and Anthony Joshua is potentially being targeted for 2025.
In the wake of Fury's second loss to Oleksandr Usyk in a clash for multiple heavyweight belts, many wondered what awaits Fury next. The lineal MMA heavyweight champion spoke with Pro Boxing Fans the morning after the rematch transpired between Usyk and Fury.
When asked about the rumblings of a Fury vs. Joshua fight possibly taking place next year and if he would want to see that, Ngannou said:
"What I want to see now is Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou. That's all that matters for me now."

Francis Ngannou's thoughts on Fury vs. Usyk II
Francis Ngannou seemed to be among the group of individuals who were not exactly in agreement with the ringside judges who oversaw the decision on Tyson Fury versus Oleksandr Usyk's second chapter. The Ukranian combatant retained the WBC, WBA, and WBO belts by a unanimous decision going 2-0 over Fury following Usyk's split decision win in their first meeting earlier this year.
Ngannou did not dispute Usyk winning the bout but felt the lopsided scorecards did not paint the most accurate picture. The former UFC heavyweight champion and current PFL superfight champion believed that the fight was closer than the judges' verdict suggested.
Ngannou, in the same YouTube interview with PBF, weighed in on Fury vs. Usyk II and the unofficial AI judge, saying:
"Maybe Usyk could have still won. I mean, at the end of the fight, I wasn't sure that anybody was a winner because anybody could have been a winner. From my scorecard, it was closer than that... AI might be intelligent, but AI doesn't understand the sport properly. It's a man's sport, it's not a machine sport."
The Cameroon native returned to MMA in October but seems to be eyeing a return to the sweet science to avenge a controversial loss to the man he made his pro debut against, Tyson Fury. Nothing is official as of this writing but Ngannou has made it clear that he wants to get even deeper into the world of boxing as we encroach into the new year.
