Chael Sonnen is not convinced that Francis Ngannou should pursue a boxing match against world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. After a long-running contract dispute with the UFC, Ngannou recently parted ways with the organization and was stripped of his UFC heavyweight title.
Leading up to his departure, 'The Predator' was upfront about his intention to face Tyson Fury in the square ring. The Cameroonian-French fighter also recently reiterated this in an interview with Ariel Helwani.

However, Sonnen recently claimed that Fury wouldn't be interested in boxing Francis Ngannou considering the latter is not the UFC heavyweight champion anymore. He also claimed that Fury would be more inclined to fight Jon Jones or Ciryl Gane depending on the outcome of their bout at UFC 285.
In a recently uploaded video, 'The American Gangster' compared Ngannou's boxing aspirations to those of Conor McGregor and stated:
"The UFC champion going and doing something with Tyson Fury had Tyson Fury's attention, just like Conor had Floyd's... The two-time simultaneous champion of the UFC, with Dana White on stage, had value... The only question for Tyson Fury is, "Do I still want to box and if I do, is it going to be against Jones or Ciryl."

Tyson Fury will outbox Francis Ngannou says John McCarthy
Francis Ngannou is no longer a part of the UFC, and his time at the promotion recently came to an abrupt end after Dana White announced his departure at the UFC Vegas 67 press conference.
As previously mentioned, 'The Predator' was upfront about his plans to compete in the squared ring and now that Francis Ngannou is a free agent, considering his long-standing interest in boxing Tyson Fury, many fans have wondered if that will be the next big step in the 36-year-old's career.
However, John McCarthy doesn't see any upside to Ngannou facing Fury in the boxing ring and claimed that the former UFC heavyweight champion would lose. On a recent episode of the WEIGHING IN podcast, McCarthy stated:
"He's going to lose. I'm just being honest. I love Francis... everyone's sitting there like, 'He hits the hardest.' Look, Deontay Wilder hits like a f**king truck. Fury is not going to have a problem. He's going to outbox Francis. It's not going to be a good night for Francis."
