This is not the first instance where 'The Predator' has been observed pouring out love for his homeland. Ngannou has always been an outspoken supporter of his motherland and its people.
Francis Ngannou has been quite vocal about his African nation. Whether it is about regional development or supporting other African native fighters like Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya.
Despite having a modest start in Cameroon and then leaving the nation to pursue his lifetime ambition of being a UFC champion, the former 'Baddest Man on the Planet' has seen it all.
Ngannou was born and raised in the village of Batié, Cameroon. He grew up in poverty and received minimal formal schooling, but he began working at a sand quarry in Batié at the age of 10 due to a lack of resources to support his divorced mother. He chose to pursue professional boxing at the age of 26 and moved to Paris, France. However, while in Europe, he was imprisoned in Spain for two months for unlawfully crossing the border. From there, he battled his way to the top of the UFC.
What's next for Francis Ngannou after his departure from the UFC?
Following his dissatisfaction with the promotion for a long time, Francis Ngannou has been freed from his contract with the UFC.
It will be intriguing to see what Ngannou does after departing from an organization like UFC. In the second half of his professional career, the former heavyweight champion has a lot of options.
Whether he joins a new MMA banner like Bellator or PFL or pursues his ambitious boxing bout with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in the boxing ring. Which 'The Gypsy King' seemed quite interested in.
Whether Ngannou gets the super-fight with Fury or tries something different, his supporters are looking forward to his comeback into combat sports.
