It looks like UFC legend Frankie Edgar has clear plans on what he'll do following his retirement from mixed martial arts.

In an interview on the 'Adam's Apple' YouTube channel prior to his final fight at UFC 281, the American detailed his ambitions after hanging up his gloves. The former lightweight champion shared that he's looking forward to opening a gym and perhaps even helping his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, with some work:

"I'm going to open a Gym [and] maybe help Ali [Abdelaziz] with some managerial stuff, you know."

Unfortunately, the MMA veteran's retirement fight ended in disaster. 'The Answer' was knocked out by Chris Gutierrez with a perfect knee strike in the very first round of their main card fight this past weekend.

Frankie Edgar is one of the most accomplished athletes in UFC history. He captured the lightweight title at UFC 112 by triumphing over B.J. Penn via unanimous decision.

'The Answer' then went on to successfully defend his title twice, as well as retain it once via split draw. He also challenged for the UFC featherweight championship on two occasions during his storied UFC career.

Edgar holds wins against MMA greats such as Penn, Gray Maynard, Cub Swanson, Urijah Faber, and even former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira. The American exits the sport with a professional record of 24 wins against 11 losses and one draw.

Frankie Edgar says he is interested in taking on Manny Pacquiao in a boxing exhibition

During media day for UFC 281, MMA legend Frankie Edgar shared that even after his MMA retirement, he might consider stepping into the boxing ring if any interesting matchup presents itself.

'The Answer' added that he would be open to taking on former multi-divisional boxing champion Manny Pacquiao in an exhibition bout:

"This is my last UFC fight [and] MMA fight for sure. Most likely 100% it's my last fight, but if like, there is some boxing [fight], maybe Pacquiao wants to do an exhibition, I know he is doing exhibitions now, I could be open to something crazy like that. But it'll have to be, you know, a really, really good one."
