It appears Alex Pereira may soon have an opportunity to face his longtime kickboxing nemesis Artem Vakhitov in the UFC octagon. It was recently reported that Pereira's GLORY Kickboxing rival will be making his debut on Dana White's Contender Series (DWCS) and may secure a UFC contract after that.
Vakhitov fought 'Poatan' twice in kickboxing and is notably the last fighter to defeat the Brazilian in the sport. Their first clash in 2021 ended with Pereira winning via a split decision. Vakhitov redeemed his loss in their rematch eight months later to win via majority decision.
After making his MMA debut last year, Vakhitov is ready to face Pereira in a trilogy fight and called out the UFC light heavyweight champion. According to MMA Propagande on X (via @mma_orbit), Vakhitov is set to make his DWCS debut in October and could earn himself a UFC contract.
Fans soon flocked to the post's comments section to express their opinion on Pereira's rival making his way to the UFC.

Alex Pereira responds to Artem Vakhitov's callout while allegedly exposing GLORY kickboxing's dirty tactics
As mentioned above, Artem Vakhitov transitioned to MMA last year and has his sights set on facing Alex Pereira for the third time. Vakhitov recently called out the Brazilian and vowed to demonstrate his superior striking skills.
Pereira took note of Vakhitov's challenge and issued a fiery response. In a statement translated by Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting, Pereira accused GLORY of using underhanded scoring tactics and said:
"Hey brother, be careful with the people that are giving you this idea. The same person that is advising you has tried the same to me, and I didn't do it because I'm not stupid. Everyone knows that when they gave you the win, it's because GLORY knew that was my last fight in the organization, and they didn't want me to leave with the belt. For you to expose yourself like this, it seems that you're a bit lost."
