Multi-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion turned mixed martial artist, legendary Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida, has made a fantastic transition to MMA, emerging as a legit heavyweight star.
'Buchecha' brings years of grappling experience at the highest level to MMA, which has proven potent against the world's best in ONE Championship.
One of Almeida's best performances came against hard-hitting South Korean 'Mighty Warrior' Kang Ji Won.
The two met at ONE: Winter Warriors in December of 2021, and at the time, it was a dangerous fight for a very green 'Buchecha'.

However, the BJJ legend was impressed with his ability to mix his striking with his grappling and put on an absolute show.

The 34-year-old Brazilian veteran joined the world's largest martial arts organization in September 2021, getting off to a blazing fast start with four straight victories over solid opposition.
In August 2023, however, Almeida ran into Senegalese wrestling sensation Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane and lost a lopsided three-round unanimous decision.
