Former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama found the hard way that when you underestimate Jonathan Haggerty, you will go to sleep.

That is precisely what Haggerty did during their world title clash in April 2023 at ONE Fight Night 9 when he scored a gigantic upset against him to become the new undisputed king of the weight class.

The full fight replay of this showdown was recently reposted by the world's largest martial arts organization on YouTube, and they wrote the video's description with:

"In the lead-up to two-sport World Champion Jonathan Haggerty's bantamweight Muay Thai title defense against Superlek at oNE 168: Denver on September 6, look back at his fierce encounter against former divisional king Nong-O at ONE Fight Night 9 in 2023!"

Nong-O looked overconfident when the match started, as he was firing his signature attack against Haggerty and simultaneously laughing off the strikes that were swinging back in his direction.

But things quickly changed when 'The General' landed a solid straight punch to his face that floored him down the canvas. The Thai icon managed to pop right back up but on wobbly legs.

Moments later, the London native sent him down again with several punches, but Haggerty officially completed the upset with a knockout finish in the opening round.

Jonathan Haggerty identifies major factor in upcoming fight with Superlek in Denver

After that victory over Nong-O, Haggerty added two more victories to his record by beating Fabricio Andrade and Felipe Lobo. Now, he is set to defend his Muay Thai belt against Superlek Kiatmoo9 on Sept. 6 for the main event of ONE 168: Denver.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports ahead of their megafight, the 27-year-old athlete mentioned that the gloves they will be using will be a major factor during the fight because one shot could change the fight's complexity and outcome.

Haggerty pointed out:

"The game changer will be four-ounce gloves. When we fought in 2018, it was 10-ounce gloves. Now we're in four-ounce gloves, anything can happen. One shot, one kill."

ONE 168: Denver will transpire from the Ball Arena in Colorado on Sept. 6 during the U.S. primetime. Tickets for the event are available on Ticketmaster.
