Australian fighter Reece McLaren has established a reputation as a very capable grappler in ONE Championship, which has seen him set up some solid finishes in his impressive run in the promotion. Despite his grappling chops, one of his most impressive wins was a knockout of Aleksi Toivonen of Finland four years ago.
It came on Oct. 9, 2020 at ONE: Reign of Dynasties in Singapore, where 'Lightning' made short work of 'The Giant' by folding him with a crushing knee to the body. With the seconds ticking in the opening round, off a clinch, the CMBT Training Centre standout unleashed a solid knee to the midsection of his opponent, who immediately dropped to the canvas in pain and never recovered.
ONE Championship posted a video of the fight on its official YouTube channel for fans to be reminded of what McLaren is capable of.

Reece McLaren's impressive win over Toivonen has gotten wind once again in line with his scheduled match on Dec. 6 at ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov in Thailand. He is going up against interim strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks in a marquee flyweight showdown, which could very well be a title eliminator.
ONE Fight Night 26 will take place at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and air live and for free at U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Reece McLaren warns Jarred Brooks of rough time at ONE Fight Night 26
Reece McLaren has vowed to come up with a win over Jarred Brooks in their clash at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6. 'Lightning' sounded the alarm in an interview with ONE Championship, ahead of his battle with 'The Monkey God,' highlighting how he intends to go hard in their scheduled matchup, saying:
"He's [Brooks] probably not gonna be fighting the best Reece, but he's definitely as hell going to be fighting the most violent. I can guarantee violence."
Heading into ONE Fight Night 26, both McLaren and Brooks are coming off bounce-back wins in their previous matches. McLaren was a split decision winner over Hu Yong of China in May, while Brooks secured a first-round submission over Cuban Gustavo Balart in August, where he claimed the interim strawweight MMA world title.
