This victory marked Kingad's third straight triumph since falling short of dethroning then-ONE flyweight MMA world champion Adriano Moraes in November 2017. He extended his winning streak to six at the expense of Tatsumitsu Wada, Senzo Ikeda, and Reece McLaren.

However, Wakamatsu exacted his revenge against the Filipino spitfire in their rematch at ONE 165 this past January via unanimous decision.

Kingad will again share the Circle with top-ranked ONE flyweight MMA competitor Moraes at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Nov. 8 inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Danny Kingad hopes to fight for flyweight MMA crown following ONE 169

Danny Kingad hopes to earn his second shot at the now-vacant ONE flyweight MMA world championship by defeating Adriano Moraes at ONE 169.

Kingad, the third-ranked ONE flyweight MMA fighter, told the Manila Standard:

"I think this fight is the way to get that world title shot after seven long years. I'm motivated. The world title is there for the taking and I'm eyeing it."

MMA icon Demetrious Johnson vacated the 135-pound MMA crown following his retirement at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 inside the Ball Arena.

ONE 169 will air live from the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will be free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
