Current number one-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender Nico Carrillo continues to prove that he is a worthy world title contender after recording his fourth straight victory in ONE Championship.
Carrillo scored a second-round TKO finish over fellow top-five contender and former world title challenger Saemapetch Fairtex during the co-main event of the ONE Fight Night 23 card on July 5, which went down inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

At the start of the fight, it was apparent that 'The King of the North' was on a mission to keep his perfect record under the ONE banner intact, as he marched forward and pressured the Thai star in front of his home fans with powerful punches and kicks.
Furthermore, he imposed his will in the opening round by landing multiple knee strikes that stunned Saemapetch in the dying seconds. The same narrative to the fight continued in the second round, as Carrillo even moved forward, and eventually connected a perfect left hook that sent his Thai opponent down the canvas.
Less than a minute from the first knockdown of the match, the Scottish superstar doubled down on his atomic left hook and officially finished the fight with two more knockdowns to pick up the TKO victory.

During the post-fight interview, Carrillo didn't waste a moment to present his case as the next challenger for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title, regardless of who will win between Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek Kiatmoo9 on September 6 at ONE 168: Denver.
Aside from this latest victory, the Deachkalek Muay Thai Academy representative also received a $50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship Chairman and CEO, Chatri Sityodtong.
