FREE FULL FIGHT: Reece Mclaren puts Xie Wei to school with slick submission finish in Singapore matchup

In June 2022, Australian star Reece McLaren chalked up his eighth victory in ONE Championship when he finished Xie Wei in their flyweight MMA battle at ONE 158, which went down inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The full fight replay of this electrifying matchup was reposted by ONE Championship on their YouTube channel, and wrote its description with:

"A classic striker-versus-grappler produced fireworks when Australian star Reece McLaren took on Chinese knockout artist Xie Wei in an electrifying flyweight mixed martial arts contest at ONE 158 - proudly presented by the Singapore Sports Hub!"

'Lightning' displayed his impressive striking skills against 'The Hunter' in the opening stages of the match to make him think that it would be a stand-up battle throughout the three-round bout.

But the Aussie MMA star survived an early knockdown from Wei, who landed an overhand right punch that momentarily floored him.

McLaren then used his superior grappling skills to take the fight to the ground and maneuvered his way into a rear-naked choke finish that ended the match at the 3:42 mark of the opening round.

Following that win over Xie, the CMBT Training Centre representative has gone 2-1 in his next three matches to remain in the top five rankings of the division.

Now, the number four flyweight MMA contender is set to welcome the reigning ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks in the 135-pound MMA weight class, as they will be part of the ONE Fight Night 26 card.

The event will take place inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Dec. 6. North American viewers with an active Prime Video subscription can watch it live and for free.
