Former ONE flyweight MMA world champion and current first-ranked ONE Championship flyweight MMA contender Adriano Moraes of Brazil has gold on his mind now that former adversary, legendary Demetrious Johnson has officially retired.
Johnson announced that he was walking away from the sport of mixed martial arts after over a decade of excellence. He addressed fans and media in the Circle at ONE 168: Denver, in what was an emotional send-off for 'Mighty Mouse'.
Almost immediately, the focus shifted to who should compete for the now vacant flyweight MMA throne, and Moraes' name obviously floated to the top first.
Although nothing is set in stone, Moraes believes he should be the one to compete for the vacant gold.
