Jonathan Haggerty is currently dominating the bantamweight division in ONE Championship, but before doing so, he teared it up in the flyweight lane. Among the memorable fights he had in the 135kg class was against Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao for the flyweight Muay Thai belt.
'The General' took on Sam-A at ONE: For Honor on May 3, 2019 in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was only the British striker's second outing in ONE after making his promotional debut two months earlier. He made it an eventful one as he went on to seize the flyweight gold with a unanimous decision victory in a barnburner of a contest.
ONE Championship uploaded a video of the epic title clash on Aug. 7 for fight fans to relive ahead of Haggerty's scheduled defense of the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6.
