ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon dazzled fans in the United States when he defended the crown against Mexican slugger Edgar Tabares at ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5, 2023, inside the 1stBank Center in Denver, Colorado.
Fully recognizing his speed advantage, 'The Iron Man' prevented Tabares from settling into a groove by throwing strikes from all directions. Midway through the second round, Rodtang's non-stop onslaught opened a window for him to land a short elbow for the knockout win.

Rodtang quickly dispatching Tabares was an awesome sight for the fans in Denver. However, it is worth noting that his knockout of Tabares was only his third finish under the ONE banner.
Following his fifth successful defense of the 135-pound flyweight Muay Thai crown, the Jitmuangnon Gym star fought recently crowned double-champ Superlek Kiatmoo9 in a highly lauded catchweight (140 pounds) Muay Thai bout in September 2023.
Though he fell to 'The Kicking Machine' via unanimous decision, Rodtang returned to the win column with a near-perfect showing over Denis Puric at ONE 167 this past June.
Rodtang unfazed with upcoming world title defense
Rodtang feels no pressure in his upcoming ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship defense against Jacob Smith at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' on Nov. 8 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Rodtang shared:
"I've watched his most recent fight, and I saw he left several openings that will definitely be in my favor. I've fought him before, and I'm familiar with his style. I'm not worried."
ONE 169 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
