FREE FULL FIGHT: Scottish monster Nico Carrillo showcases his power in brutal finish of Saemapetch in Bangkok barnburner

Scottish striking sensation Nico Carrillo officially earned his shot for the world title when he defeated Thai star Saemapetch Fairtex in their bantamweight Muay Thai clash at ONE Fight Night 23 in July 2024 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Carrillo scored a second-round TKO victory, and ONE Championship posted the full fight replay of this exciting match on their YouTube channel. They wrote its caption with:

"Scottish powerhouse Nico Carrillo and former ONE World Title challenger Saemapetch threw heat in a clash between top bantamweight Muay Thai contenders at ONE Fight Night 23!"

'King of the North' quickly imposed his presence into the match as he pressed the former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title challenger on his back foot in the opening round with his powerful strikes.

Carrillo's best moment in the round was in the dying seconds when he almost scored a knockdown with knee strikes.

With momentum on his side, Carrillo continued to press forward in the second frame until he finally caught Saemapetch with a left hook that floored the Thai star down the canvas.

Less than a minute from the first knockdown, the 26-year-old sensation connected another left hook that dazed his Thai opponent. Although Saemapetch answered the eight-count from the referee, the finish was inevitable, and seconds later, the match was ended with the third knockdown in the round for the TKO finish.

The Deachkalek Muay Thai Academy representative is now ready to maximize his world title opportunity, as he is set to challenge the reigning two-sport and two-division world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title in the co-main event of ONE 170 on Jan. 24, which will take place inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ahead of that clash, Carrillo appeared on the Leather'd Podcast and talked about his mindset heading into the championship showdown, as he revealed:

"My approach, I'm an all eggs in one basket kinda guy. Single-minded. Absolutely. And that's how anybody successful in life, get successful, you know. They're really good at one thing. That goal."
