ONE Championship has posted a YouTube video of Shamil Gasanov’s fight against Kim Jae Woong.
Gasanov made his promotional debut on October 21, 2022. ‘The Cobra’ held a perfect record of 12-0 before competing at ONE on Prime Video 3, which created high expectations for him to succeed. The 27-year-old was matched up against Kim, who was previously ranked.
Gasanov put the featherweight division on notice by securing a first-round submission against ‘The Fighting God.’ ONE recently showcased the impressive debut on YouTube with the caption:

Gasanov’s win made him the number five-ranked featherweight in ONE Championship. Ahead of the Russian are Martin Nguyen (4), Ilya Freymanov (3), Garry Tonon (2), Thanh Le (1) and reigning champion Tang Kai.
‘The Cobra’ is now looking to continue his path to a world title shot by taking out the next fighter ranked in front of him.

Shamil Gasanov looks to ride his momentum into second fight with ONE Championship
Shamil Gasanov is rising as one of the most dangerous fighters in the featherweight division. Now that the 27-year-old has validated his world championship potential, he must take the next step by taking on a former titleholder.
‘The Cobra’ has been matched up against former two-division champion Martin Nguyen, who has lost three of his last four fights dating back to 2020. ‘The Situ-Asian’ believes he still has another world title run up his sleeve.
