ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon's marquee moment in ONE Championship happened in October 2021 at ONE: First Strike against Italian legend Giorgio Petrosyan.
Petrosyan, who has held multiple kickboxing world titles around the world, was eager to become the inaugural ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion at Superbon's expense. Early into the second round, however, Superbon knocked him out with a well-timed kick to the chin.
Relive the knockout finish, which ONE posted on YouTube below:
After defending the 155-pound kickboxing crown against rival Marat Grigorian in March 2022, Superbon's reign would be cut short thanks to a monstrous one-shot knockout from Chingiz Allazov in January of the following year.
Superbon bounced back from the defeat by knocking out Tayfun Ozcan in June 2023. He then challenged reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai in December that same year, but ultimately fell short via majority decision.
This past April, Superbon closed out his career trilogy with Grigorian via unanimous decision to win the ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world championship.
Superbon admits he and Jo Nattawut have been watching each other closely
Superbon and 'Smokin' Jo Nattawut will lock horns for the very first time in their careers at ONE Friday Fights 81 on Friday, Sept. 27, inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, under featherweight Muay Thai rules.
Despite not having ever fought each other, Superbon noted in an interview with ONE Championship that he and Nattawut are quite familiar with one another, saying:
"Jo and I have been watching each other for a long time, as we both fought in kickboxing and then Muay Thai. We have been close to each other but never had the chance to lock horns."
ONE Friday Fights 81 is available live via pay-per-view at watch.onefc.com.
