Although Tawanchai was already an established figure in the striking world at that point, he made sure to leave an indelible impression.
From the opening bell, Clancy found himself on the receiving end of Tawanchai's harrowing combinations, each strike leaving welts on his torso as though he'd been struck with the jagged surface of a meat tenderizer.
Midway through the first frame, Tawanchai delivered a right uppercut-left straight combo that dropped Clancy for an eight-count.
A series of left elbows capped off a dominant opening salvo for the Thai, who raised his arms in jubilation as a battered Clancy walked back to the corner.
Tawanchai picked up right where he left off in the next two rounds, consistently punishing Clancy at every opportunity. Despite the one-sided action, Clancy never backed down, continuing to press forward. However, his resolve could only carry him so far.
In the third stanza, Tawanchai uncorked a left high kick that connected flush with Clancy's chin, sending the former WBC Muay Thai world champion crashing to the canvas.
With Clancy's arms dropping in midair, the referee immediately stepped in to stop the contest just 35 seconds into the round.
Since that night, Tawanchai has become a force to be reckoned with, winning nine of his 10 bouts under the organization’s banner.
