Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao has starred in many heated battles throughout his 11-fight ONE Championship tenure. His epic firefight with Irish standout Ryan Sheehan at ONE Friday Fights 9 in March 2023 is a favorite for many of his fans.
Many wondered whether Sam-A, who was 39 at the time of the fight, could contend with Sheehan's quick feet and fast combos after having been retired for the better part of the past two years.
The Evolve MMA star silenced all doubt late in the second round when he landed his patented left-hand power shot on Sheehan's chin for the knockout win.

After a stunning return to the circle, Sam-A fought Prajanchai PK Saenchai in June 2023 over the ONE interim strawweight Muay Thai world championship. This also served as their long-awaited rematch from July 2021.
Prajanchai emerged victorious again, this time via knockout in the second round.
Despite the disappointing defeat, Sam-A bounced back by finishing three-time ISKA kickboxing world champion Akram Hamidi at ONE Friday Fights 81 this past September.
Sam-A headed for epic encounter at ONE 169
Sam-A will be gunning for his ninth win under the ONE banner when he faces Zhang Peimian in a strawweight kickboxing bout at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' on Nov. 8 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Shengli Fight Club product is fully aware that this will be the most important fight of his ONE career yet. A decisive victory over the Thai legend could propel him back into the ONE strawweight kickboxing world championship picture.
